FAQs
Your Wedding Photography FAQs

Q: Do I really want photography?
A: Yes, your wedding will be one of the most important days of your lives, which you would've spent months planning for. You will be surrounded by family and friends who may not be together again for quite a while and as you enjoy your day it will fly past. Capturing these memories for years to come, so you can remember the day as it was is very important, and good photography is invaluable in making this a reality.
Q: How much will it cost
A: This depends on the type and size of album package and how much coverage you want on the day. All package prices include the album and there's only a small fee for late attendance which can be added if you want me to stay on to the first dance - there are no hidden charges. All packages and prices can be explained easily during a viewing (either here or in your own home), but all are competitive and to the same high standards regardless of cost.
Q: When should I book my photographer?
A: You should book your wedding photographer as soon as you have the venues organised. Typically this can be anything from six months to a year in advance but can be longer. The summer months fill up quicker so if your wedding falls in these months the sooner the better.
Q: Who will take my wedding photographs?
A: All wedding photography is done by myself personally and your photography will be discussed with me in detail before the wedding. You'll already know me as a photographer before your special day.
Q: What happens on the day ?
A: Having met to discuss what you want from your wedding photography you'll have a pretty good idea what to expect. You may not want shots of bridal preparations but if you do the day will start from there progressing onto the wedding venue, photos of the men, guests arriving, bride's arrival, the ceremony, group shots and special shots of your two selves (a timespan you decide is comfortable), through to the speeches and first dance all the while capturing the natural moments as the day unfolds. But above all, your input, how you want your day to be is the most important thing to remember. It's your day, your story! But trust in my experience as I'm equiped for all eventualities, rain or shine, and the images I take will always be special to you both.
Q: How many photographs do you take on the day?
A: There's no limit to the amount of photographs taken on the day as each wedding generates a natural amount to tell the story. Generally speaking the bigger the wedding, the more guests, the more photographs are taken - running into hundreds. Let me know your favoured group shots and must-haves, but either way I'll have my own plan based on our previous meetings.
Q: Can I see samples of your work?
A: You can start viewing Wedding Gallery One after you've read these FAQs by clicking here. If you want to arrange a no-obligation viewing please visit my contact page and either phone or fill in the contact form to arrange a viewing of complete wedding albums across the package range.
Q: What kind of albums are available?
A: I have three types of album packages, from the more traditional book-bound album complete with case holding either 30 or 40 8"x6" prints to a reportage album taking overlays accomodating either one big image or several smaller ones. Modern book-style albums are also available with flush pages accomodating several images on a double page spread - sometimes referred to as story-book or coffee table albums. These albums are available in three sizes: 8"x6", 12"x8" and 12"x12", the most popular being the 15 page 12"x8" which can hold up to 60 images of various size - to view typical layouts of this type of album please click here.
Q: Can we see the album design before it's made?
A: For the traditional albums you will pick the images in the exact order they will appear in the album by filling out a form. For the modern book-style album you will be able to see the page layout online (having previously picked the number of shots for the album) and make any changes by contacting me. The album layout can be viewed through a password protected gallery.
Q: Can the images be viewed and purchased online?
A: Yes, a link will be supplied to log into an online gallery with a password. These very reasonable priced reprints starting at 6"x4" size all the way through to Fine Art Wraps and DVD slideshows can then be purchased using PayPal and posted free of charge to any address within the UK. For overseas orders such as Australia, USA, South Africa etc, please contact me to arrange postage. There is currently no time limit on these galleries.
Q: Do I get a disc of the images to print myself?
A: Yes, these are included in the packages as standard and you have license to print these yourself, but the quality of reprints supplied by myself from a professional lab are highly recommended.
Q: What happens after I book?
A: Once a standard wedding booking agreement is filled in and a deposit is paid, a copy of the booking agreement with your chosen package and agreed price will be posted out with a receipt for the deposit and a letter of confirmation. About four weeks before the wedding date we can meet up and go over the details of the day, timings, group shots etc.
Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes, I have both public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance - certificates that can be viewed if required.
Q: How do I contact you to arrange a viewing or to book?
A: Simply phone or fill in the form on my contact page and request a no-obligation viewing or a booking form. No booking is ever presumed during a viewing and there's no hard-sell, simply a chance to see what's on offer and make an informed decision from there.
